She was a silver statue trailing a silken moon She roamed the shimmering Arabian desert And the rolling sand dunes She was the majestic zephyr, that sifted Sand and breeze The subtle kiss of a searing sun, Through the moon's lurid beams Her slender figure cast dancing shadows, Upon an earth so starkly bare Her kohl-lined eyes flashed dark with the stories, That cascaded from her chestnut hair She tread the sand with passion, In quest of long-lost forgotten places And through her weary desperation, Stumbled upon an oasis Her desire ignited a fire.... And lit a worldy pyre... From the roots of the stream she drank, And quenched her burning thirst, To the devil's threshold she sank As she dug her very own hearse
