I once thought his gaze
Was unafraid
Bold and brazen
Breaking waves
I was completely blind
To his ebony eyes
How did I not realize the lies
That were tucked deep into the ether
Of those two I- rises
Still, you would lure me in with the silent kisses
The tsk of your lips against midnight skin
Your crescent gaze trespassed
The fearlessness of my sun
You sent an earthquake of alarm
Up, down, and through the terrain of
My clandestine figure
The flesh beneath
Was so ignited
It neglected all sense of self-preservation
I didn’t know to run
Till it was too late
