Forgiveness

Forgiveness is an old Goddess
Her skin is leathery and torn
Her smile though knowingly sweet
Kindles bitterness
When she grows horns

Her teeth turn into fangs
And her mouth gushes with dragonly fire
Her pardon so often abused
Has become the tool of twisted liars

And so she summons her children:
Humility, Remorse, and Love
Instructs them to infuse the cruel mind
With compassion sent from above

So that Sorrow shall flow from Wickedness
And He shall falter at Violence's appeal
So Sympathy would have her own altar
And Corruption would learn how to heal
