Forgiveness is an old Goddess Her skin is leathery and torn Her smile though knowingly sweet Kindles bitterness When she grows horns Her teeth turn into fangs And her mouth gushes with dragonly fire Her pardon so often abused Has become the tool of twisted liars And so she summons her children: Humility, Remorse, and Love Instructs them to infuse the cruel mind With compassion sent from above So that Sorrow shall flow from Wickedness And He shall falter at Violence's appeal So Sympathy would have her own altar And Corruption would learn how to heal
